The Seronera area of the Serengeti National Park is widely regarded as offering some of the finest year‑round wildlife viewing anywhere on Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. This is largely due to the perennial waters of the Sero River which draw a remarkable diversity of animals from far and wide, especially during the drier seasons.
Available statistics indicate that there are between 8 and 12 permanent and semi‑permanent lodges and camps within a 7‑kilometre radius of Seronera Airstrip. In addition to these, there are between 6 and 8 public and special campsites and it is likely that one or both of these sets of figures are understated.
For many of us, this high concentration of facilities diminishes the sense of wilderness that visitors to the Serengeti are seeking to experience.
For every camp we operate, Intimate Places has always placed the highest priority on delivering a genuine wilderness experience for our guests. ‘Intimate Camp Seronera,’ which is located more than 15 kilometres from Seronera Airstrip, sits in an area with no neighbouring camps thereby ensuring an authentic sense of space and solitude. By staying with us, your clients therefore enjoy the best of both worlds: exceptional game viewing in central Serengeti combined with a truly undisturbed wilderness atmosphere.
